Ernests Gulbis In US Open Tennis Tournament

The 2009 US Open Tennis tournament began yesterday, and some good games have already been played. But today sees Andy Murray take on Ernests Gulbis, who hasn’t made it past the second round of any tournament this season.

There is no doubt at all, that Gulbis is a talented player. After all, he did make it to the fourth round at Flushing Meadows in 2007 and he was a quarter-finalist at Roland Garros last season, but his tennis seems to have gone downhill since then.

And when Andy Murray and Ernests Gulbis played at Wimbledon this summer, Gulbis appeared to be second best. Murray, who was a straight-sets winner at Wimbledon, also won their other two meetings, one being Queen’s Club and the other being St Petersburg.
