
Five years ago, the Belfast-born shop worker was told by pop mogul Simon Cowell that he wished he could put her voice 'in someone else's body'.
Desperate to impress at the Glasgow auditions this year, she also dyed her hair bright red for the audition.
And her rendition of Nothing Compares 2 U, originally by Sinead O'Connor, wowed the judges and they put her through to boot camp.
She told The Sun that she had to 'go back and rewrite history' on the show.
'What happened to me the last time nearly tipped me over the edge, it was terrible.
'I came face-to -face with Simon Cowell and told him that his comments had nearly wrecked my life. He told me, "That's not a nice thing I said".

After auditioning at 18, she battled an eating disorder and said it crushed her confidence with men.
'Since then I've had laser treatment and liposuction and I've come back a new person.
'When he saw me this time he said I was a good-looking girl. I went through so much after his comments the last time. I was 18 and they really hit me hard.
