According to the New York Daily News, Brittany’s husband, Simon Monjack called 911 this morning at 8 am with Los Angeles Fire Department responding to the call where Brittany was in “full cardiac arrest”.

On November 29, Huffington Post reported Brittany’s husband was rushed to LAX Hospital after his plane landed at LAX. Brittany must have been on the flight as, according to the Post, Simon, 39, was “incoherent” when EMS personnel boarded the plane, and, that Brittany argued with the EMS over whether he should be taken to the hospital. The EMS disagreed.

Phenobarbital (INN) or phenobarbitone (former BAN) is a barbiturate, first marketed as Luminal by Friedr. Bayer et comp. It is the most widely used anticonvulsant worldwide and the oldest still commonly used. It also has sedative and hypnotic properties but, as with other barbiturates, has been superseded by the benzodiazepines for these indications. The World Health Organization recommends its use as first-line for partial and generalized tonic-clonic seizures (those formerly known as Grand Mal) in developing countries. It is a core medicine in the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines, which is a list of minimum medical needs for a basic health care system. In more affluent countries, it is no longer recommended as a first or second-line choice anticonvulsant for most seizure types, though it is still commonly used to treat neonatal seizures.

Raymond Clark Name As Murderer Of Anie Le, Police led away a man Raymond Clark in handcuffs to the cheers of neighbors Tuesday and plan to extract DNA samples in an attempt to link him to the killing of a Yale graduate student Anie Le who died the week she was to be married.

Authorities raided the apartment of 24-year-old Raymond Clark III but did not file any charges against him. Police said he will be release after they obtain the evidence they need from him and his apartment.

Clark, dressed in a tight-fitting white shirt, was handcuffed and escorted out of the apartment building in Middletown and into a silver car. Neighbors leaned over the apartment building's iron railings and cheered as police led him away.

New Haven Police Chief James Lewis did not describe Clark as a suspect. He said police were


hoping to compare DNA taken from Clark's hair, fingernails and saliva to more than 150 pieces of evidence collected from the crime scene. That evidence may also be compared at a state lab with DNA samples given voluntarily from other people with access to the crime scene.

"We're going to narrow this down," Lewis said. "We're going to do this as quickly as we can."

Police have collected more than 700 hours of video tape during the probe and sifted through computer records documenting who entered what parts of the research building where Le was found dead.

Investigators began staking out Clark's home on Monday, a day after they discovered 24-year-old Annie Le's body hidden in the basement of a research building at Yale's medical school. She had vanished Sept. 8.

Clark shares the apartment with his girlfriend, Jennifer Hromadka, whom he is engaged to marry in December 2011, according to the couple's incomplete wedding Web site. Middletown is about 20 miles north of New Haven.

But first, let us hail Representative Joe Wilson, a Republican from South Carolina, for, I can only assume, acting upon a deep-seated desire to turn our Congress, and the relationship between Congress and the President, in a more parliamentary and participatory direction. That is, in the best tradition of the British PM's question time with the House of Commons, Wilson shouted out that Obama was a liar during his speech. Too bad that, while expressing himself in this way, he made a demonstrably false claim, apparently asserting that the Democrats' reform proposals will guarantee health coverage to illegal

immigrants...but hey, those of us who want to jazz up our elected bodies can't be too choosy.Picking up on this same approach--an approach, mind you, that I find very admirable; I tend to think democracy works better in a parliamentary framework than a separation of powers one--let me respond in kind: Representative Wilson, I think you're an ass. Probably a perfectly nice person, and wonderful family man as well, but an idiot, and also an ass.

I know that feeling. When I was young, my family lived in Indonesia for a few years, and my mother didn’t have the money to send me where all the American kids went to school. So she decided to teach me extra lessons herself, Monday through Friday – at 4:30 in the morning.
Now I wasn’t too happy about getting up that early. A lot of times, I’d fall asleep right there at the kitchen table. But whenever I’d complain, my mother would just give me one of those looks and say, “This is no picnic for me either, buster.”
So I know some of you are still adjusting to being back at school. But I’m here today because I have something important to discuss with you. I’m here because I want to talk with you about your education and what’s expected of all of you in this new school year.
Now I’ve given a lot of speeches about education. And I’ve talked a lot about responsibility.
I’ve talked about your teachers’ responsibility for inspiring you, and pushing you to learn.
I’ve talked about your parents’ responsibility for making sure you stay on track, and get your homework done, and don’t spend every waking hour in front of the TV or with that Xbox.
I’ve talked a lot about your government’s responsibility for setting high standards, supporting teachers and principals, and turning around schools that aren’t working where students aren’t getting the opportunities they deserve.
But at the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents, and the best schools in the world – and none of it will matter unless all of you fulfill your responsibilities. Unless you show up to those schools; pay attention to those teachers; listen to your parents, grandparents and other adults; and put in the hard work it takes to succeed.
And that’s what I want to focus on today: the responsibility each of you has for your education. I want to start with the responsibility you have to yourself.

There is so much more to this speech, but I’ll let you head over and read it yourselves. I’ll probably touch more on this speech during the week. But I believe the only thing he is doing is trying to encourage our children that staying in school and getting an education is the most important thing for their futures and I agree 100%. Don’t you?

Alex And Derek King Case Updates

When baby-faced brothers Alex and Derek King, 12-and-13-years-old, respectively, killed their father in his Cantonment, Florida home on the Sunday after Thanksgiving 2001 with a baseball bat and then set the house afire to conceal evidence of the slaying, the story made national headlines. The case became one of the most notorious killings in the state’s history. Six years later Alex, now 18, is a free man. He was released on Wednesday morning, April 9, 2008 at 9:45 a.m. after serving six years for his part in his father’s death.

To recap the story, the boys’ father, Terry King, was sitting in a living room chair with his feet propped up on a sofa, asleep, when he was bludgeoned to death with an aluminum baseball bat. Firefighters working feverishly to extinguish the blaze that had been deliberately set, discovered his body. Closer examination revealed that the left side of his head had been bashed in, making it easy to determine that he hadn’t died from smoke inhalation. His two sons, Alex and Derek, were nowhere to be found. At first authorities considered the possibility that they might have been abducted, but the following day they showed up at the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office after being driven there by a family friend, 40-year-old Rick Chavis.

The two boys soon confessed that they had killed their father. Alex claimed that he had thought up the bizarre plan, and Derek said that he had been the one who had swung the bat. They were worried, they said, that their father was going to punish them for having ran away from home 10 days earlier. It turned out that they had been staying at the home of their dad’s friend, Chavis, a convicted sex-offender, for many of those ten days. It was later shown that Chavis had allowed them to hide in a back room of his trailer home when their father had come looking for them. Chavis had been convicted in 1984 of molesting three boys of varying ages. According to Alex’s testimony before a grand jury and to letters that he had written, he and Chavis had entered into a sexual relationship.

“My ultimate goal in life now is (to be) what he is,” Alex wrote. “It is about sharing your life with someone else. Before I met Rick, I was straight, but now I am gay.”

Alex and Derek were swiftly indicted by a grand jury on first-degree murder charges, and Chavis was charged with being an accessory after the fact, tampering with evidence, and molesting Alex. Surprisingly, Chavis was later acquitted of the sex-offenses involving Alex.

Although their confession had contained details of Terry King’s murder that could have only been known by the perpetrators, the boys recanted and instead blamed Chavis, insisting that he had killed their father while they waited outside, hiding in the trunk of Chavis’s car. Chavis was subsequently charged with first-degree murder and arson.
In August 2002, Chavis was the first to go on trial for Terry King’s murder. After hearing four days of testimony, the jury deliberated for five hours before announcing that they had reached a verdict. The judge, however, ordered that the verdict be sealed until after Alex and Derek’s trial, scheduled for the following week.

Although the boys had been charged with first-degree murder, the jury was allowed by law to find them guilty of a lesser charge—which they did. Alex and Derek were convicted of second-degree murder, for which they could have been sentenced to 22 years to life in prison. Following the boys’ verdict, the judge unsealed Chavis’s verdict—he had been found not guilty on the murder and arson charges. In another legal proceeding later, Chavis was found guilty of being an accessory after the fact to third-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and false imprisonment involving Alex. He received the maximum sentence of 35 years, and is not scheduled for release until 2037.

In the meantime, Escambia County Circuit Court Judge Frank Bell granted a motion filed by the boys’ attorney to throw out their convictions. Bell ordered the prosecutors and the defense attorneys into mediation to straighten out the cases. He said that if the mediation talks failed, he would order a new trial for the boys. As a basis for his decision, Bell cited the state’s presentation—in the two separate trials—of conflicting evidence regarding who actually wielded the bat.

Fear expressed by the prosecutor that the boys might walk as a result of the judge’s decision never materialized. The case was mediated like the judge had wanted, and both sides reached an agreement—Alex and Derek would plead guilty to third-degree murder and arson in connection with their father’s slaying. Third-degree murder is defined as an unintentional killing that occurred while another felony crime was being committed, in this case battery.

According to the prosecutor, David Rimmer, “you only have to show that the defendant intended to commit the battery.”

Alex was sentenced to seven years in prison, and Derek was sentenced to eight years.
Although Alex has now regained his freedom his brother, Derek, is still imprisoned at the Lancaster Correctional Facility, near Gainesville, a prison for young offenders. Derek is scheduled to be released in May 2009.

18-year-old Nikki Catsouras reportedly got into an argument with her father and he took away her car keys. She then took her father’s black Porsche 911 Carrera and while driving at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour, she lost control of the vehicle and smashed into a concrete tollbooth. She was killed instantly and then just a few days later, nine graphic Nikki Catsouras car crash photos were published all over the internet.

Just days after the accident, her father Christos, who is a real estate agent, reveived an e-mail that he thought was a property listing, but turned out to be pictures of his daughter Nikki’s blood-covered face accompanied by the following caption: “Whoohoo Daddy! Hey Daddy, I’m still alive.”

California Highway Patrol apologized for the leaked photos blaming two CHP dispatchers. One of the men’s attorney said that he sent the images to relatives and friends “as a cautionary tale” to warn them of the dangers of the road. “Any young person that sees these photos and is goaded into driving more cautiously or less recklessly-that’s a public service.” One was suspended and the other one ended up quitting.

As the Bush family prepares to pack their bags and head back to Texas, some of the retrospectives have been looking at both George W Bush and wife Laura Bush’s pasts, and some media reports and an episode of The Family Guy mentioned the fact that Laura Bush killed a guy.

It’s a sad story, but also completely true: First Lady Laura Bush did kill a guy, although a very long time ago.

In 1963 when then 17, Laura Bush ran a stop sign in a crash that killed a friend in another car. Some reports say it was her then boyfriend in the other car. The police report was released in 2000, and noted that Laura wasn’t charged with a crime for the death.

“It was a terrible, terrible thing,” she said. “I know this as an adult, and even more as a parent, it was crushing … for the family involved and for me as well.”

The big question though is why she wasn’t charged way back then. Perhaps the rich got even better treatment in Texas back in 63.
